MDCAT Syllabus 2020

Students you must not get anxious about MDCAT, nor you need to take it too easy. The Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test 2020 will be based on the subjects you have already learnt during your intermediate. But, MDCAT will be more conceptual than FSC, A Levels or 12th Grade exams. MDCAT syllabus consists of four subjects, i.e., English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. UHS did not announce MDCAT 2020 syllabus till date, but it’s expected that the syllabus will be the same as for 2019.

MDCAT English Syllabus:

English covers the least part in MDCAT paper. To attempt this portion, applicants must have a strong vocabulary. The syllabus for this part is as follows:

·         Choose suitable word from given alternatives.

·         Identification of the grammatical mistake free sentence.

Physics section of MDCAT paper is the second smallest portion of exam. It covers following topics:

Biology portion of MDCAT covers the major portion of exam. The topic it covers include:

·         10 questions from Biological Molecules

·         7 MCQs from Microbiology

·         2 questions from Kingdom Animalia

·         Total 37 questions from Human Physiology

·         6 MCQs from Bioenergetics

·         5 questions from Biotechnology

·         2 MCQs from Ecosystem

·         3 MCQs from Evolution

·         8 questions from Genetics

 

 

 

MDCAT Exam Pattern:

MDCAT is paper based exam which contains four portions. There are total 200 multiple choice questions are asked by students. It is mandatory to answer all of them. The time allowed for the paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes or 150 minutes. Division of each part is as follows:

·         English: 20 MCQs of 20 marks

·         Physics: 40 MCQs of 40 Marks

·         Chemistry: 60 MCQs of 60 marks

·         Biology: 80 MCQs of 80 marks

Each question of the paper carries 1 marks. Kindly don’t attempt the question if you are not sure about its answer as each wrong attempt will result into the cutting of one mark from the whole. There is no negative or positive marking for unattempted question.
