9th class Biology is not a compulsory subject for the Matric students of science group both in Punjab and Federal Boards; you have a choice of two subject’s Biology and Computer sciences. Biology is necessary for those students who want to go in Medical field; otherwise you can select computer science in 9th class. Who Should Study this Course?

 The students of Elementary education who want to study in Science group and want to pursue their educational career in medical they will have to study Biology in their matriculation, this subject is compulsory for them. In both Punjab and Federal boards this subject is taught as a major subject. There is a little bit of difference between both boards about this subject in marks distribution and paper pattern.

What is Course of 9th Class Biology?

There are Nine Chapters in this course of 9th class which is briefly described in the course books in both boards. In this course students learn complete basic level of Biology. Each chapter consists on complete information. Student will learn from definition to all formulas covering history, branches and many more pertaining to this subject. Here are the course chapters:

Paper Pattern of 9th Class Biology for Punjab Board Students

As I mentioned there is a little difference of paper pattern in both boards. But firstly I will discuss the Punjab Board Paper Pattern. In Punjab board total marks of this subject are 60. There are Two Portions of this course including Subjective and Objective.

Objective Type

The Objective Portion consist of 12 (twelve) MCQS that have to be attempted in Fifteen minutes. Every single question has to be attempted by filling the circle completely.

Subjective Type

This subjective portion of Biology paper consists on Short Questions and Long Questions that has to be attempted on answer sheet.

Part 1:

In this section short questions are further divided into Three Sub Sections. In every sub section there are 8 (Eight) Questions in which student has to attempt any Five Questions. Each question carries equal marks which is 2(two) marks per Question.

Part 2:

In the next subjective portion there are Three Long Questions and each long question has Two Sub Questions that consist on 4 - 5 Marks. The student has to attempt Any Two questions. In short, the part 2 of Subjective type carries 18. Marks division is following:

 

·         Objective types (MCQs)         = 12 marks

·         Short Questions                         = 30 marks

·         Long Questions (Subjective)  = 18 marks

·         Total Marks                                 = 60 marks

·         Practical (9th + 10th )                 = 30 marks

Paper Pattern of the 9th Class Biology for Federal Board

In Federal board the chemistry paper has the three sections A, B, and C. The section A is consists on Multiple Choice Questions. There are 12 (twelve) questions in this portion which student has to attempt.

The next section is section B, which consists upon Short Questions. There are 15 Fifteen Short Questions and each student must attempt Eleven (11) Questions which should have a brief and relevant answer comprising on Three to Four Lines per answer. The Section C consists upon Long Questions. In this section there are total Three Questions from which a student has to attempt two from the total of Three Questions. Each question has Two Sub Questions and each sub question has 5 Five marks. In this way there are total 53 marks of the Subjective portion 33 of which are awarded by Short Questions and 20 marks are awarded by Long Questions. Completing a total of 65 marks in all Three Sections(A, B and C).

 

·         Objective (MCQs)      =  12 marks

·         Short Question           = 33 marks

·         Long Questions           = 20 marks
